Tips for Installing a New Water Coil
Emergent Coils now has over 200,000 stock coils available, so you can select and order the exact water coil you need at any time, day or night. Here are some general tips for preparing and installing a new water coil:
• Double-check that the new water coil will work with your system (connectors in the right place, etc.) prior to starting the installation.• Clean the water coil with a solution designed for coils.• Make sure space is maintained between the water coil and filter racks, fans, and other structures.• If you are mounting a standard water coil, make sure it is level so it will drain properly.• Use an inert gas purge (like nitrogen) for field brazing and welding to reduce possible contamination of the water coil.• Make sure to securely connect all valves, pipes and fittings to the water coil.• When pressurizing the water coil, test it for at least 10 minutes to make sure the pressure remains the same and there are no leaks. If the pressure drops, repressurize and test for 10 more minutes. If the pressure drops again, check for leaks in the water coil, valves and fittings.• Make sure the drain pan and pipes are positioned correctly to avoid standing water.
