Tips for Maintaining a Steam Coil
Here are some general tips for maintaining a steam coil:
Regular maintenance should include: inspection of condensate traps, vacuum breakers, air vents and valve; draining and flushing of the condensate drip legs and sediment traps; and analysis of boiler water.
- Keep steam coil surfaces free of corrosion and scale.
- Replace steam coil filters as needed.
- The finned surface of the steam coil can be cleaned using a commercial coil cleaner.
- Make sure dirt and debris are washed out of the steam coil by cleaning it from the side where air exits.
